What does the Law School Admission Test consist of?

The LSAT is a standardized law school entrance exam comprised of 5 multiple-choice sections: 2 logical reasoning sections, 1 logic games section, 1 reading comprehension section, and 1 ungraded section containing experimental questions. After the 5 multiple-choice sections, an essay portion of the exam called the writing sample is administered. For each section, test takers are given a time limit of 35 minutes to complete their work.

Is the Law School Admission Test offered multiple times per year?

Students can take the LSAT on any of the four annual test dates scheduled by the Law School Admission Council. The test is given in February, June, September/October, and December.

Where does the LSAC administer the Law School Admission Test?

You can find the test centers closest to you by visiting the testing locations page on the LSAC website. There you’ll find a list of every published LSAT test center. Please note that the LSAT is not administered at every test center on all testing dates.
