SAT registration can be done by mail or online at www.collegeboard.com. If special testing arrangements are required registration must be completed by mail. If a person has already registered once, registration can be completed over the telephone.
The SAT questionnaire accompanies the registration and is a useful tool
for students and colleges alike. The questionnaire tells a college about
a student's interests, and helps students see how the colleges they are considering
stack up against one another. To modify the questionnaire, visit the College
Board website or contact the College Board at
Rescheduling the date, time, or location of the test must be done by the Wednesday that falls two-and-a-half weeks prior to the exam. Any change requires an additional fee of $17 and can be done with a credit card via phone. The number to call is (609) 771-7600 between 8 a.m. and 8:45 p.m., Monday through Friday, ET. If possible, try to avoid the busiest day (Monday), the busiest hours (3 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET), and registration deadline dates.
You can take the SAT as many times as you like. The score report that colleges see will contain your six most recent scores, and colleges only look at your top score when comparing you to other candidates. Most students take the test at the end of their junior year and again in the fall of their senior year.
If you have any further questions or concerns regarding SAT registration policy, we recommend that you visit www.collegeboard.com, the official SAT site administered by the College Board.
