| Description |
TestMasters seeks talented and highly motivated
individuals to teach the TestMasters GRE Course at various locations
across the United States. Instructors can teach anywhere from one to
six full-length courses each year. Instructors may also be given opportunities
to tutor students outside of class, to teach intensive weekend seminars,
and to make presentations about the TestMasters GRE Course to prospective
students. |
| Responsibilities |
The TestMasters GRE Course contains forty-five
hours of live, in-class lecture. Verbal instructors are responsible for
teaching twenty-one hours of the course, and quantitative instructors
are responsible for teaching the other twenty-four hours of the course.
Instructors who teach both sections are responsible for teaching all
forty-five hours of the course. All instructors must arrive thirty minutes
before the start of each class for question-and-answer sessions. In addition,
instructors are required to work at least one five-hour shift per month
on the TestMasters Student Helpline during any period that they are teaching
classes. |
| Qualifications |
Verbal instructor candidates must have scored in
the 99th percentile on the verbal section of an actual GRE administered
by the Educational Testing Service (740 or higher on the current scale).
Quantitative instructor candidates must have scored both a perfect 800
on the quantitative section and at least a 650 on the verbal section
of an actual GRE administered by the Educational Testing Service. There
are no exceptions to these requirements. Furthermore, instructor candidates
must have a passion for teaching and the ability to convey GRE concepts
to students effectively. A great GRE score is necessary but not sufficient
for becoming a GRE instructor at TestMasters. |
